Fruit Fairies

We couldn't let out some of our fruit fairies, so here are their stories. Enjoy!

Strawberry Babies

Once you see our sweet Strawberry Babies, it will be a love at first sight. It’s a delicious feeling to have them around!

Did you know that Strawberry, or Fragraria, is native to the Americas and Eurasia? Even though its name ends in “berry”, Strawberry is not a botanical berry, but belongs to the Rose family.
The origin of its name can be found in the Old English “streawberige”, a word associating straw and berry.
The Garden Strawberry is a hybrid first bred in France in the 1750s by crossing the wild Virginia strawberry, native to North America, and a Chilean variety. Its red juicy sweet flavored fruit is one of the most popular delicacies all over the world. The Strawberry’s particularly savory aroma made it become a very popular flavor for many culinary products.

Baby Cherry

Meet our cherished Baby Cherry, who loves to do acrobatic swings on the branches of his Cherry tree. He’s definitely not afraid of heights!

Did you know that Cherry is the fruit of many plants of the genus Prunus? Plum, apricot, and peach belong to the same family!
While nowadays the Cherry tree is spread all over the world, wild Cherry is native to Europe, Asia and Africa.
Cherry trees bloom in spring with splendid pure white or pale pink flowers, with some species used in Japan for ornamental purposes.
Its delicious juicy sweet fruit varies from the darkest red to pinkish yellow, and makes for one of the most loved delicacies, excellent for everybody’s health!

Orange Fairy

Did you know that the Orange is native to Asia, but nowadays is the most grown fruit tree in the world? It belongs to the evergreen Citrus family, and it is an ancient hybrid between Pomelo and Mandarin.
The Orange tree blooms in spring with amazingly perfumed white flowers, which turn into juicy orange fruits, excellent for our health! There are many varieties of Oranges, with different sweet and sour flavors.
Do you love Orange juice? Well, it’s not the only gift from this wonder fruit. Its flower petals are used for perfumes, and its peel is used for Orange oil.

Lemon Fairy

Even though she seems a little sour, our Lemon Fairy is very sweet when it comes to our health. If you give her Lemon potion a chance, you will feel a lot healthier!

Did you know that the Lemon is native to Asia? It’s the sour cousin of the sweet Orange, as they both belong to the evergreen Citrus family. It has been cultivated since ancient times for its well-known culinary and healing properties.
The Lemon tree always competes with the Orange tree for having the most perfumed white flowers. Its juicy yellow fruit has plenty of citric acid and vitamin C, a combination that gives it a unique flavor.
The Lemon juice and zest are key ingredients in many foods and drinks. Just think of fresh lemonade! And let’s count a few of its health benefits, like antibacterial, antiviral, and immune-boosting powers, plus it does magic as a weight loss aid!

Apple Fairy

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. This is the favorite saying of our delicious Apple Fairy, who is one of the most powerful health watchers!

Did you know that the Apple has been grown for thousands of years in Asia and Europe? In time it spread almost all over the world, and nowadays it is one of the most widely known fruit trees, with over 7,500 varieties!
In spring, the Apple tree blooms with delicate white and pale pink flowers that in autumn will proudly turn into all sorts of tasty apples that everybody just loves. You can have them fresh, canned, or juiced, and mixed in savory dishes and desserts. Also, you can ferment them into cider and vinegar.
